"Atholl Palace is a wonderful place to visit. The staff are very helpful and polite, nothing is a problem! The food is amazing and the rooms are made up daily. This is great for either a weekend break or stay for a week. Great for couples or families. The spa is also brilliant and relaxing. Book now and stay, you won't be disappointed!"
Amazing AstonsFriday 14th June 2013
An Aston Martin Club from the Netherlands visited and stayed at the Atholl Palace Hotel in Pitlochry over the weekend.
Showcasing some rare Aston Martins as well as more up to date models the group , headed up by Aik Schouten, could not wait to bring the cars to Highland Perthshire.
“Our annual rallies are a real calendar highlight for us,” he said. "Everyone loves Aston Martins - especially in Britain where they are associated with James Bond."
And certainly keen to grab a bit of James Bond glamour were the senior pupils from Perth High School who just happened to be having their Prom at Atholl Palace whilst the Aston Martins were in town. The pupils were allowed to pose with their tuxedos and ball gowns by the glamorous cars, adding even more panache to what was a top evening in Pitlochry!
Said Dougal Spaven, Hotel Manager: “The pupils had a fabulous time and were greeted with these glamorous cars on the lawn as they arrived – I think it made the evening even more special and our thanks go to the owners for making it all happen.”
The Atholl Palace Hotel is well used to hosting vintage car rallies in June and has two more booked for the rest of the month. The Maserati Club is coming at the end of the month for their 50th Anniversary Rally and have been coming to Pitlochry since 1992. "We are also hosting a Bugatti rally - it's the season for it," said Dougal
