Lisa and Mike arrived all the way from Hertfordshire on Thursday before their wedding on Sunday. They had brought their cake with them too…….. now, the cake story begins!! It did not have as good a journey as the happy couple and had pretty much collapsed by the time they got here. Angela at Celebration Station in Perth to the rescue – the cake was taken to Perth on Friday to be collected on Saturday. With the cake was a beautiful intertwined heart decoration, you can see this on the front of the cake – it was supposed to go on the top but with all the ‘rebuilding’ Angela decided it would look better on the front and she made a lovely decoration for the top. All was well with the cake….we thought! On the Sunday we were busy getting the Atholl Suite dressed for Lisa & Mike’s day – the time came to set up the cake. It was around 12pm by the time I noticed that the new topper was missing, I searched everywhere and eventually it was discovered that the previous wedding had inadvertently taken the cake topper as it was a very close match to theirs! By this time to say I was panicking is a slight understatement. Luckily I managed to phone the brides father who was around 20 minutes away and they very kindly returned it, phew! After a lovely ceremony in the Bow Lounge they had a traditional Highland Handfast blessing by the fountain, the sun shone and everyone had a wonderful day.
