Swimming Pool & The Hydropathic Heritage
at Atholl Palace Hotel
After a day walking Highland trails, exploring Pitlochry’s woodland paths or taking in the views across Perthshire, there’s something truly special waiting beneath the surface.
A Pool with a Story
At Atholl Palace Hotel, our swimming pool is fed from its original natural source — water filtered through the volcanic rock of Ben y Vrackie. It’s a rare and remarkable detail, connecting your experience directly to the landscape that surrounds you.
The pool also forms part of the building’s original hydrotherapy spa system — a nod to the estate’s Victorian wellness heritage. In a region known for its pure air and natural beauty, even your swim reflects the Highlands.
Relax & Unwind in our Swimming Pool
Step into warm, restorative water and feel tired legs begin to ease, warm up after crisp Highland air and simply slow the pace before dinner. Whether you’re enjoying a romantic Highland escape or a family adventure, it becomes part of the natural rhythm of your stay. Located on the garden level, The Spa at Atholl Palace opens out towards the fragrant oaks of Black Spout Woods and the sweeping views of the Tummel Valley. Designed to complement the hotel’s Victorian Gothic heritage, the space blends historic character with modern comfort.
Our indoor facilities include a swimming pool, spa bath, steam room and gym — everything you need to relax, restore and reset during your stay. Limited gym membership is available.
